The stage is set as Pasipo presents Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Cosi Fan Tutte at the Benilde Blackbox of the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde’s Design+Arts Campus. Directed by Jaime del Mundo, the production promises to be both enjoyable to watch and rich in music, giving audiences a fresh look at Mozart’s playful tale of love, loyalty, and disguise.
Guiding the musical direction is Gabriel Allan Paguirigan, who skillfully brings out the balance and detail in Mozart’s intricate score. The cast, meanwhile, benefit from the expertise of internationally acclaimed tenor Arthur Espiritu, whose focused vocal coaching during rehearsals has refined the ensemble to a professional standard.

Known for its exploration of love’s fickleness, the opera is brought to the stage in a production that highlights both its humor and timeless charm. First performed in 1790, Cosi Fan Tutte tells the story of two young soldiers who, persuaded by a wager, disguise themselves to test the loyalty of their fiancées. What follows is a playful series of deceptions and misunderstandings, set to some of Mozart’s most elegant and witty music, as questions of fidelity and human nature take center stage.
The cast features Louie Angelo Oca as Don Alfonso, Gregan Rebadeo as Ferrando, and Ruzzel Clemeno and Karl Saret alternating as Guglielmo. Angeli Benipayo and Nerissa de Juan share the role of Fiordiligi, with Via Villasin as Dorabella and Sheila Ferrer as Despina.
Rafael Marco Balbin, director of Veniccio.com, remarked, “Pasipo venturing into production is a meaningful step for our classical music scene. It’s inspiring to see musicians of my age step beyond their comfort zones and pursue a project of this scale.”

Audiences can catch the performances on September 6 at 2:00 PM, September 10 and 11 at 5:00 PM, September 12 at 1:00 and 5:00 PM, and September 13 at 1:00 PM. Tickets are priced at PHP 1,000 per seat, with discounted rates of PHP 500 for students, seniors, and PWDs. In addition to ticket sales, the show is also open to show buyers, with opportunities for companies and sponsors to make their bids and bring this vibrant production to a wider audience.
