Written by Chantal Gapato | November 13, 2025
Steinway & Sons has introduced a limited edition series of grand pianos, Ultra Black and Ultra White. A total of 52 instruments will be produced worldwide, including 18 Model B and 8 Model D units in each color.
The series was created in collaboration with Bentley Motors, with both brands contributing expertise in woodwork and finishing to achieve the pianos’ unified monochrome design. As part of the partnership, Bentley also launched a Flying Spur Speed sedan in Arctic White with a Piano Black interior, reflecting the monochromatic aesthetic of the Steinway pianos.

“The Ultra Black and Ultra White editions embody Steinway’s ability to honour our heritage while exploring new expressions of design. These pianos are not only instruments of the highest musical quality but also works of art, created for those who value craftsmanship, individuality, and timeless beauty,” said Guido Zimmermann, President of Steinway & Sons Europe.

The Ultra Black model features a jet-black rim, underside, and soundboard, a cast-iron plate in Liquid Black Yellow, and black metal fittings. The Ultra White model mirrors this design with a high-gloss white rim, white-stained underside and soundboard, white cast-iron plate, chrome fittings, and an all-white keyboard. Each piano is handcrafted at Steinway’s Hamburg factory and includes the SPIRIO | r high-resolution player-piano system. Prices and delivery times have not yet been confirmed.
