Singaporean Pianist Churen Li to Perform in Manila in March 2026

Few classical performers exhibit the bold spirit and courage to create that pianist and composer Churen Li does. Recognized for her brilliant classical performances, Churen is equally acclaimed for her bold reimaginations of classical music that bring the tradition into newer spaces. As a production of Veniccio.com, in collaboration with the Manila Chamber Orchestra Foundation Inc., Churen Li will perform for the first time in the Philippines at the Manila Pianos Showroom in Makati City on March 15, 2026.

At the age of 19, Churen earned her Bachelor’s at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music in Singapore before earning her Master’s at the Yale School of Music. She also boasts a Master of Philosophy in Music at Cambridge University. Throughout her studies and career, she studied under such reputable names as Peter Frankl, Bernard Lanskey, Paul Liang, Hung-Kuan Chen, and our country’s very own Albert Tiu!

Churen has won numerous competitions, including the Aarhus International Piano Competition in 2011, the Ars Nova International Piano Competition in 2012, and the International Piano Competition “Pietro Argento” in 2014, to name just a few. She has also performed around the world alongside many prestigious orchestras, including the Singapore Symphony Orchestra, Cambridge University Orchestra, Klassische Budapest Philharmonic, and more.

These achievements mark just the beginnings of an artist’s promising career, and it is a privilege to witness firsthand the pianist’s journey.

Opening next year’s program, Churen will perform her personal touch on Bach with her Fantasy after Bach. It is always the role of the performer to express herself as she performs a composer’s piece. Churen takes this a step further, making something of Bach that is also something wholly her own (we can recall, in a similar vein, Liszt’s famous transcriptions of Schubert or Brahms’ Variations and Fugue on a Theme by Handel).

Experience Churen Li’s rare form of artistry at the Manila Pianos Showroom coming March 2026. Purchase your tickets now at Veniccio.com
