Synopsis
Singaporean pianist Churen Li is a rising artist whose work transcends traditional boundaries, blending classical music with contemporary influences to create deeply immersive and transformative experiences. Recognized by The Straits Times as “the closest thing I know to be the ‘complete’ pianist,” Churen tours internationally as a recitalist and soloist, performing a diverse repertoire that ranges from Chopin and Debussy to Michael Jackson, John Williams, and George Crumb. She was most recently featured as the pianist for Singapore’s 2025 National Day Parade.
Praised for her “poise, expressiveness, and keyboard abilities,” Churen has appeared at major international festivals such as the Singapore International Piano Festival, Charleston Festival, Aspen, and Darmstadt, and has performed with leading orchestras including the Singapore Symphony Orchestra and Cambridge University Orchestra. Her debut album Ephemory reveals a composer-pianist fluent in both classical and postmodern idioms, showcasing her original works and fresh interpretations of familiar themes.
A graduate of Yale School of Music and Cambridge University, Churen studied under renowned pianists Peter Frankl, Hung-Kuan Chen, Albert Tiu, and Bernard Lanskey. She currently serves as Artist Faculty at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music and remains deeply committed to education and community engagement, founding the “Classical Music Adventures” series and the “CHUREN Prize” to support young Singaporean musicians. This 2026, Manila audiences will have the rare opportunity to experience her artistry in an inspiring evening of piano music.
All ticket prices are inclusive of a ₱100 convenience fee.
